About Elder John Lewis

My grandfather, Elder Lewis was born on June 19, 1930 and he spent the vast majority of his life enjoying two things; the Lord and sports. When the opportunity came to create this classic, we hoped to name it after a person who would enjoy watching two quality high school athletic programs who also valued characteristics such as sportsmanship and ethics and my grandfather was an obvious choice. Although Elder Lewis passed away April 29th of this year, his spirit, name, and character will live on with this annual game.
